2. Jason Holder

Jason Holder has been a bankable name in the shortest format of the game. The 31-year-old has troubled batters with the bounce he extracts from the surface and provided timely breakthroughs to his side. Also, he has been a handy contributor with the bat and played crucial knocks, slotting in lower down the order.

Holder has picked up 199 wickets in 204 T20 games at an economy of 7.89 and scored 1788 runs at a strike rate of 126.18. The Barbados-born has proven his mettle in the international arena too, bagging 51 scalps in 49 T20Is at an economy of 8.17 and scoring 385 runs at a strike rate of 120.68.

Barring Mitchell Marsh, Delhi Capitals did not have quality seam-bowling all-rounders in their team. Also, considering Marsh’s constant struggles with injuries, DC could have signed someone of Holder’s caliber to add depth to the side but it was not meant to be. Only Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings showed interest in acquiring the West Indies all-rounder at the IPL 2023 auction. Eventually, RR signed him for INR 5.75 crore.
