The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to commence on March 31. The inaugural match of the T20 carnival will witness defending champions Gujarat Titans take the stage alongside Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Many top-drawer batters who are known to torment bowlers with their marauding bats will take part in the marquee tournament. However, among them, there are certain players who can not only destroy bowling attacks but also pile on runs for fun. Ruturaj Gaikwad Ruturaj Gaikwad has been a bankable name in the Indian domestic circuit. The 26-year-old has featured in 72 List-A matches and aggregated 4034 runs at a strike rate of 101.05. Coming to the shortest format, he has scored 2836 runs in 90 games at a strike rate of 133.96. Gaikwad has been quite prolific with the bat in the lucrative T20 tournament as well. He has featured in 36 IPL games and scored 1207 runs at a strike rate of 130.35. The 26-year-old has held the innings together and anchored the innings beautifully. Further, when on song, the ace batter has shown his ability to take down even the best of bowling attacks. Gaikwad batted like a dream in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022. He racked up a staggering tally of 660 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 113.59. Shubman Gill Shubman Gill is one of the top-drawer batters in the Indian cricketing circles.
