Punjab Kings (PBKS) are set to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 6th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. This is the first game at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore in this edition of the Indian Premier League.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru would be hoping for an improved result after their defeat at the hands of the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings on Friday. Their batting may have been dodgy during the game in Chennai and might be one of the things that need to be addressed ahead of their next game. Their bowling was decent as they were using the short ball ploy well and might look to add another pacer instead of Karn Sharma to their line-up.

Punjab Kings started their campaign off on the right foot and would be looking to continue this run in their upcoming game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Their win against Delhi Capitals was a proper team performance and it was a call to the other teams that the Punjab Kings cannot be taken lightly this season.

Let’s take a look at the top five battles that might decide RCB vs PBKS encounter:

5. Mayank Dagar vs Jitesh Sharma

The Punjab Kings’ vice-captain Jitesh Sharma did not have a successful start to his IPL campaign and would be looking to improve upon his performance in their upcoming encounter. He is batting at his preferred position of number five and should be able to play the role of a finisher as well as stabilize the innings for the team if required at some point.

His main challenge would be up against Mayank Dagar, who might be the main spinner that starts for the home side. Dagar had a decent performance with the ball against Chennai Super Kings as he delivered two overs at rapid speed and gave away just 11 runs without taking a wicket.

Jitesh Sharma was not able to read the spinner in his last game and got stumped. If Dagar can bowl with the same pace, he might just outfox the Punjab Kings wicket-keeper. It is surely a battle we might see in the middle overs and can swing the direction of the match as well.
