Chennai Super Kings retained many of their core players for the IPL 2025, who were a part of their squad since 2022 and beyond. While not all of them have delivered the goods as well as one would have expected, some key players have stood up for the 5-time champions. But CSK would be missing some players who played for them in the 2024 season.

In their 2024 squad, CSK had a good mix of youth and experience. The Chennai-based franchise only retained their experienced players who played for them for a long time, like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Matheesha Pathirana, and MS Dhoni. While some were bought back in the auctions, others were left for different franchises.

Simarjeet Singh was a part of CSK in the IPL 2022 and 2024, respectively. For the 5-time champions, the right-arm pacer claimed 9 wickets in 10 innings at a bowling average of 28.78, at a bowling strike rate of 20.00, at an economy rate of 8.63, with best bowling figures of 3/26. However, his performance in the IPL 2025 hasn't been up to the mark.

Simarjeet has increased his pace and improved his skill sets. However, they have not been converted into performances except for the match against RR. In 3 matches for SRH, the fast bowler has 2 wickets, at a bowling average of 60.50, at a bowling strike rate of 27.00, and an economy rate of 13.44. Against RR, he claimed 2/46 and helped his side to win their only match of the season so far.
