With 137 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 167.07, Sudharsan is currently the second-highest run-scorer in IPL 2025. His two half-centuries, 74 against Punjab Kings and 63 against Mumbai Indians, show his ability to play long innings. Unlike power-hitters like Pooran, Sudharsan’s strength lies in his ability to rotate the strike and find gaps with ease. However, he has also displayed his ability to accelerate when needed, smashing eight sixes in two innings. The left-hander has built on his stellar 2024 season. 4. His performances against Delhi Capitals (75 off 30) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (70 off 26) have put LSG in the third spot of the points table. Not only is he the leading run-scorer, but he also sits atop the six-hitting leaderboard with 13 maximums in just two innings. Pooran’s ability to score quickly in any situation, whether posting a target or chasing, makes him one of the most dangerous batters in the league. He has been consistent over the years, finishing IPL 2024 with 499 runs in 14 innings. Given his current form, he is well on his way to securing the Orange Cap if he maintains the way he is playing. 3. Shreyas Iyer Shreyas-Iyer. The PBKS displayed a batting masterclass by pacing their innings beautifully and ensuring their team posted a huge total. While he narrowly missed out on a century, his innings sent a strong message that he means business this season. If Punjab wishes to lift their maiden title, Iyer's bat will have to do the talking. He has the experience of leading a team to glory, having captained Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the title in 2024. If he continues to play match-winning knocks and takes the side deep into the tournament, he has a strong chance of topping the list of highest run-getters. 2. Travis Head Travis Head. (Source -IPL/BCCI) Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head has carried his international form into IPL 2025. The southpaw has already managed to score 136 runs in three games. After a strong start with a 67 against the Rajasthan Royals, he followed it up with a quick 47 against Lucknow Super Giants before being dismissed for 22 against Delhi Capitals. Notably, his last two innings came on a losing cause. However, after a decent start to his IPL career in 2016, he returned in 2024 with a bang, scoring 567 runs at a strike rate of 191.55. His 39-ball century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru last season is one of the fastest tons in IPL history. Given his aggressive mindset and dismantling opposition bowling attack, he will surely be one of the names to watch out for in the race for the Orange Cap. 1. Virat Kohli MS-Dhoni-and-Virat-Kohli. Kohli was in sensational form last season, scoring 741 runs in 15 matches at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69. With a record-breaking 973 runs in 2016, he remains the only player to cross the 900-run mark in a single IPL edition. In IPL 2025, Kohli has already started making an impact early, scoring 90 runs in two games, including an unbeaten 59 against KKR in the season opener. If he continues this form, he could win the Orange Cap once again and help RCB finally clinch their maiden IPL title.
