In the 15-year-long history of the IPL, few teams have relished the challenge of the playoffs and crushed their opponents time and again.
3. Kolkata Knight Riders (8 wins out of 13 matches)
KKR sowed the seeds for the IPL to become the grandest T20 league in the world courtesy of a breathtaking knock from Brendon McCullum of 158* off 73 balls. However, despite a brilliant start, their performances suffered a downward curve as they failed to qualify for the playoffs in the first three seasons.
They finished in the top four for the first time in 2011 and went on to clinch their first title in 2012 under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir. Knight Riders further added another trophy to their cabinet in the 2014 edition and became the second team to win two IPL titles.
In the 13 matches played in the playoffs, KKR have won on eight occasions are the third-best team in the knockout stages. They managed to reach the final in the 2021 edition as well but failed to clinch their third title against CSK.
