IPL: Ranking top 10 players tattoos
Tattoos have a rich history and have been used for centuries to tell stories, convey beliefs, and showcase artistry.
3. Faf du Plessis {8.5/10}
Faf du Plessis is still going strong at the age of 38 years and has made 343 runs in six games of the IPL 2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore picked du Plessis for INR 7 crore in 2022 after fighting a battle against Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals at the auction table.
Under Faf's captaincy, RCB finished the season fourth with eight wins in 14 games and qualified for the playoffs. They lost Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals, which marked their exit from the tournament.
During a match against Chennai Super Kings, Faf received some medical treatment around his ribs, showing a tattoo over his left rib with the Urdu word 'Fazal,' which means grace or blessing. Apart from that, he has a tattoo on his arm reading 'Dies a Domino XVIII I MMXI' to symbolize his international debut on January 18, 2011, when he scored 60 runs against India.
In a video on RCB's YouTube Channel, he explained that he always wanted a tattoo but wasn't sure what to get until he made his debut. Du Plessis has a compass tattoo on his arm, which points towards the Adelaide Oval, the place where he made his Test debut, along with the dates of his marriage and baptism, and above it, an 'Agape' tattoo symbolizing unconditional love.
Du Plessis made his IPL debut in 2012 with Chennai Super Kings and played for the team until 2015 before they were banned for two years. He represented Rising Pune Super Giants in 2016 and 2017 and was back with CSK in 2018. He finished as the third-leading run-scorer for CSK when he was released in 2022. In his debut season for RCB, du Plessis scored 468 runs in 16 innings and finished as the leading run-scorer.
