IPL: Top 5 bowling performances of all time for RR
With the marquee event just a few weeks away, let’s discuss Rajasthan Royals' five greatest bowling performances of all time.
1. Sohail Tanvir’s 6/14 against Chennai Super Kings, 2008
Pakistan players haven’t been allowed in IPL since 2009 but back in 2008, some star Pakistan players featured in the inaugural season of the cash-rich league. Sohail Tanvir, who kicked off his international career just a few months before the maiden IPL edition, was seen in RR’s jersey.
The former Pakistan paceman represented Rajasthan and became the first recipient of the Purple Cap. His best performance came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Jaipur. In the huge clash, the Men in Pink registered a comfortable eight-wicket win against the Yellow Army, with the help of Sohail Tanvir’s 6/14 figures.
Among his six hunts, CSK’s key batters Parthiv Patel, Stephen Fleming, and Albie Morkel were also included. The left-arm pacer also received the Player of the Match award for his unprecedented bowling performance.
