Rajasthan Royals (RR) have re-established themselves as a quality side in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the last few years. In 2022, they concluded their journey as runners-up, and in their superb campaign, Jos Buttler ensured the quality of batting while Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult served the bowling attack efficiently.
Chahal, who was playing his debut season for Rajasthan, looked effective with the ball and ended the season as a Purple Cap winner with 27 wickets in 17 matches at an economy of 7.75. Similarly, when RR clinched the title in 2008, Sohail Tanvir, Shane Warne, and Shane Watson put up an extraordinary show with the ball.
In the upcoming IPL installment, Rajasthan supporters will expect their bowlers to step up and play their roles remarkably so that their side succeeds in adding another trophy to their cabinet. With the marquee event just a few days away, let’s discuss RR’s five greatest bowling performances of all time.
Here are RR’s 5 best bowling performances of all time in IPL:
5. Prasidh Krishna’s 3/22 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, 2022
In Qualifier 2 of the 2022 IPL played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, when RR clashed with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the former registered a seven-wicket win and qualified for the final. Jos Buttler won the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 106-run knock off 60 deliveries but earlier in the game, it was Prasidh Krishna, who had bowled an excellent spell to set the stage for batters.
Taking on RCB’s quality batting unit confidently, Krishna delivered an early breakthrough to his team, getting rid of Virat Kohli. After the former RCB skipper’s scalp, the pacer cleaned up veteran Dinesh Karthik and Wanindu Hasaranga. In his four-over spell, he splurged only 22 runs and got three wickets.
