Chennai Super Kings have scored their highest total at the Chepauk, which is also the third-highest total in the history of the Indian Premier League.
3. Murali Vijay
The former Indian opener made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in 2009 and played till 2013. In 2014, he played for Delhi Daredevils and played for Kings XI Punjab from 2015 to 2017. In 2018, he came back to CSK and played till 2020.
Murali Vijay made 1708 runs in 70 innings for CSK at an average of 25.87 and a strike rate of 125.12. Additionally, he is one of the two batters who have made two centuries in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings.
Vijay played 29 games for CSK at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, during which he scored 894 runs at an average of 33.11 and a strike rate of 135.24. He was the first Indian batter to score a century for CSK in the IPL.
On April 3, 2010, he scored an impressive 127 runs off just 56 deliveries against Rajasthan Royals at the Chepauk, still the highest individual score by a batter at the Chepauk Stadium. Both of his centuries for CSK have come at Chepauk.
Vijay played 106 games in the IPL and scored 2619 runs at an average of 25.93 and a strike rate of 121.87. In 2016, Vijay was appointed the captain of the Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab). Under his captaincy, the team won three out of eight games.
His best season with the bat came in 2010 while he was a part of CSK. Vijay made 458 runs in 15 games in 2010 at an average of 35.23 and a strike rate of 156.84, including one century and two half-centuries.
