3. Bangladesh- More than 20.1 million followers
Bangladesh debuted in the Asia Cup in 1986 and since then, they have played 43 games in the distinguished tournament in which they have won only seven games and lost 36. They are yet to win their maiden title in the tournament but despite these underwhelming numbers and facts, they have more than 20 million supporters on social media.
On Facebook, they have earned 14 million followers while on Twitter, 3.5 million people are following their page named Bangladesh Cricket. Along with these two social media platforms, they are famous on Instagram as well. On the 13-year-old social media site, the Bangla team has garnered 2.6 million supporters.
Since the 2012 Asia Cup, Bangladesh’s performance in white-ball cricket has witnessed a steep rise. In the 2012 Asia Cup, they qualified for the finals for the first time and concluded their campaign as runners-up, losing to Pakistan. In the 2016 and 2018 installments of the tournament, they ended up as runners-up, losing to India both times.
