ODI World Cup 2023: Flop XI of third week
In the competition’s third week, a lot of illustrious names failed to do their job efficiently, and talking about some, let’s have a look at the flop XI of week three of the tournament
7. Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Bangladesh have put up a terrible show for their fans in this World Cup and in this massive unsuccess, their key players have made a huge contribution with their failures. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, one of the brightest players in the side, has also struggled to be among the runs.
In seven outings, the 26-year-old has racked up 169 runs and nine wickets. The Bangla side faced its third loss of the tournament against India in Pune and Miraz was sent at number four after the scintillating start delivered by both openers. At that point, his responsibility was to spend time at the crease and help his team put up a big total on the board.
However, he looked completely defensive against the quality bowling from India and fell to Mohammed Siraj. Miraz’s struggle with the bat continued against South Africa as well. This time, he departed after scoring 11 runs at number seven.
