The Netherlands haven’t won any game in this World Cup and the failure of their batters has played a vital role. In their inaugural game against Pakistan in Hyderabad, the Dutch side was tasked to chase 287. Following the decent total, Scott Edwards and his men surrendered on 205.

Except for Vikramjit Singh and Bas de Leede, no other batter showed valour against the Men in Green. Logan van Beek played some good strokes in the lower order and chipped in with his unbeaten 28-run innings off 28 deliveries but his innings couldn’t make a difference.

Against New Zealand, the Dutch team got folded on 223 in 46.3 overs, replying to a huge total of 322. Confronting the quality Kiwi bowling unit, Colin Ackerman looked solid with his 69 off 73. Captain Edwards and Sybrand Engelbrecht also played knocks of 30 (27) and 29 (34) respectively and helped the team cross the 200-run mark.
