ODI World Cup 2023: Rating top 10 team jerseys

The ICC World Cup 2023 is just two days away and will be played from October 5 onwards. The first match will see defending champions England taking on New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India will play its first match of the tournament on October 8 in Chennai, against Australia. Meanwhile, the hype for the tournament is at an all-time high with fans flocking to the stadium to watch the warm-up matches. The official anthem of the ICC World Cup 2023, composed by Bollywood music director, Pritam, and featuring the Bollywood superstar, Ranveer Singh, was well-liked as well. Adding to this whole celebration of cricket, all the 10 participating teams also unveiled their new look jerseys for the ICC World Cup 2023. Every one of them was well received by their fans and got massive reactions on social media. With this in consideration, here is a rating Cricket World Cup 2023 jerseys of all 10 teams: 1. Netherlands- 5/10 Netherlands Jersey The Netherlands, to no one’s surprise, have stuck with their Orange theme for their ODI World Cup 2023 jersey. The jersey also features two solid orange stripes, two solid blue colours, and the Dutch flag on the sleeves in addition to its solid orange colour. A closer look also reveals a tinge of ivory pattern all over. The World Cup logo is printed on the right side and the KNCB logo is on the left. 2. Afghanistan- 6/10 Afghanistan Afghanistan is set to make its third consecutive appearance at the ICC World Cup. They have donned their traditional blue, green, and red colours on their jersey. But the thing that catches the eye is the anomalous patterns in the front. It gives an impression of something very celebratory. 3. Bangladesh- 6/10 Shakib al Hasan (Photo Source: Twitter) Bangladesh has also used the majority of green colour on their CWC 2023 jersey. It was unveiled with the players including Shakib Al Hasan revealing it from a box. The jersey features a splash of red on the sides and the collars. Bangladesh would want to go further than their best World Cup finish, which was a quarterfinal appearance in the 2015 edition. 4. Sri Lanka- 5/10 Sri Lanka Sri Lanka was the only team that didn’t officially unveil their jersey ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup. They instead donned their new-look apparel in the warm-up matches. The jersey is somewhat similar to the ones they wore during the Asia Cup 2023. It features a Lion engraved on the front, and at the side and is a mix of the majority of dark blue colour with tinges of light blue patterns. 5. South Africa- 6/10 Quinton de Kock (Photo Source: Twitter) South Africa will be aiming for their first World Cup final since their readmission into international cricket in 1992. Their new look jersey features a simplistic green-coloured front with no design. However, they have given an artistic touch to their national flag being printed across both shoulders. This gives them a yellow and black design on the right shoulder and a red and blue pattern on the left shoulder. 6. New Zealand- 7/10 Kane Williamson (Photo Source: twitter) New Zealand has always been very creative with its white-ball jerseys. Sticking with their moniker of Black Caps, New Zealand jersey is all black. It features a design that reminds fans of the 1996 World Cup with straight lines beneath the underline of New Zealand's name. 7. Pakistan- 7/10 Pakistan Pakistan was the first team to unveil their jersey for the ICC World Cup 2023. Their kit features a predominantly dark green colour. But the highlight is the one big star that covers the entire front part of the kit. PCB explained that the kit has the concept of 'Star Nation Jersey'. It embodies a deep link between Pakistan's cricketing heroes and their dedicated fans. The jersey stands out due to the colour and choice of the simple star design. 8. England- 8/10 England has moved from a light-coloured jersey in the 2019 World Cup, to a relatively darker shade of blue and somewhat teal in the 2023 World Cup. Apart from those two colours, faint, light blue stripes that run across the front. The defending champions seem ready and eager to get on with the game and retain their world title. 9. Australia- 6/10 Australia Five-time World Champions Australia have decided to showcase their straightforward approach in their kit. This time for the ODI World Cup 2023, they will don their traditional yellow kit and will have a dark green stripe on the sides as well as the borders of the collar. The kit will feature a First Nations design as well. 10. India- 9/10 India The hosts India had tied up with apparel giants Adidas for kit manufacturing and they have come up with something simple, yet elegant. Subtle changes made to the ODI jersey see the Indian flag’s tri-colour pattern of Orange, white, and green adorning the shoulders of the jersey. There are two stars above the Indian team logo, showing India’s two World Cup wins.
