Mitchell Starc hasn’t had the best of the World Cups in every sense. The pacer has picked just ten wickets in eight matches with an economy of 6.55. Notably, Starc came into the World Cup 2023 carrying niggles from the Ashes 2023 series and had played through the pain pushing his body a tad bit. He played the first eight matches for Australia, before being rested against Bangladesh in their final league game.

He has faced shoulder injury and groin issues during and since the Ashes 2023 and even missed the first two India ODIs before playing directly in the CWC 2023 warm-up matches. If Starc doesn’t play, it might be a huge blow for Australia, as they won’t have their strike bowler in the semi-final against a formidable opponent in South Africa.
