It was the D-Day of the Cricket World Cup 2011.  The match was set in the scorching heat of 2nd April, Saturday. The captains of both teams MS Dhoni and Kumar Sangakkara joined match officials and Ravi Shastri for the toss. It was a full-packed Wankhede buzzing for the hosts.

As usual, Shastri started the proceedings and the coin was tossed. It was head Shastri was asking who called Head. But it seemed neither Dhoni nor Sangakkara was sure what they called. After a few seconds match referee Jeff Crowe suggested a re-toss.

This time, Sangakkara called Head and it went in his favour. Sri Lanka opted to bowl first and the rest of what happened is history. Later in many discussions, it came out they didn't hear the call properly and they had to redo it to avoid any confusion going further.
