5. MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni will look to end his IPL career on a winning note as he looks forward to lifting another trophy for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In the 2022 edition, the veteran made heads turn with his decision to hand the franchise’s captaincy mantle to Ravindra Jadeja. However, the 34-year-old failed to show up with his leadership skills and gave back the reins of the team to Dhoni.
The 41-year-old will strive to win the fifth title for the franchise with not just his captaincy but batting as well. In the 2022 edition, Dhoni scored 232 runs in 14 IPL matches at a strike rate of 123.40 and also his reputation as a finisher intact with his knocks against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
Until now, the CSK stalwart has notched 4,853 runs for the franchise in 228 league games with 23 half-centuries at a strike rate of 137.09. With these batting figures, he is also the second-leading run-scorer for CSK.
