Rohit Sharma IPL Centuries | List of Rohit Sharma international & IPL centuries
Rohit Sharma has 46 centuries to his name in international cricket.
Ever since Rohit Sharma burst into the international stage, he was deemed as one of the future stars. He made his ODI and T20I debut in 2007 and in his very first year in international cricket, he helped India win the T20 World Cup. However, the journey was not as smooth as one thought it would be.
Under the able leadership of MS Dhoni, Rohit received multiple opportunities to justify his spot in the playing XI but could not seal his spot in the ODI World Cup 2011 following a series of poor performances. He later expressed his disappointment regarding the same but once he made his return, the Mumbai-born cricketer turned out to be the 'Hitman' of world cricket.
He went on to hit three double centuries in ODI cricket, a rare feat in the cricketing world. Other than that, Rohit played a vital role in the 2019 ODI World Cup, where he hit five centuries in the competition and broke multiple records in the process. He made his presence known by playing an attacking brand of cricket in T20I cricket as he has five centuries to his name in the shortest format of the game. Notably, Rohit Sharma played a captain's knock (121* off 69 balls) in his last T20I outing for India against Afghanistan in Bengaluru.
His Test career, however, has been a roller-coaster ride. He made his debut against West Indies in 2013 and in his first match, he hit a cracking century to show early promise. However, he missed plenty of matches in his career due to injuries and poor form subsequently. He made a strong comeback in the 2017-18 campaign and eventually went on to lead India in the longest format of the game. He also led the national team to the finals of the World Test Championship in 2023.
When it comes to the Indian Premier League, Rohit has been a force to reckon with. He led Mumbai Indians to a record five championships and is the most successful captain in the tournament alongside MS Dhoni.
