5. Trolling cameraman in the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy
In February 2023, the Australia cricket team toured India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23. Playing the first Test, India took a 223-run lead in the first innings. With the heavy lead, Indian bowlers looked confident as they showed five Australia batters way to the pavilion at a score of 52.
The fifth scalp Peter Handscomb fell to Ravichandran Ashwin, getting dismissed through leg-by-wicket (lbw) at his individual score of six. India's captain took the Decision Review System (DRS) to dismiss the right-handed Aussie batter as the umpire had rejected Ashwin’s appeal.
During the review process, the cameraman showed Rohit on the big screen instead of showing the action for which the DRS was taken. Rohit got frustrated seeing himself on the screen and vented out his anger on the cameraman saying, "Abe mujhe kya dikha raha hai, udhar dikha na.” He also used a cuss word against the cameraperson.
