Team India has suffered a huge setback with the injury to Ravindra Jadeja. The ace all-rounder has sustained a right knee injury and is set to undergo a surgery. This has already been ruled out the 33-year-old from the Asia Cup and could potentially be sidelined for the upcoming T20 World Cup as well.
However, India have some quality all-rounders who could fill the void if the veteran all-rounder is ruled out for the T20 World Cup 2022. Let us look at the top five names who could replace Jadeja in the Indian squad.
1. Axar Patel
Axar Patel has been a constant figure in the Indian setup across formats. Whenever Jadeja has been sidelined due to some reason, Axar has been the go-to man for the Men in Blue. In the ongoing Asia Cup as well, the 28-year-old has been brought in as a replacement for the Saurashtra-born all-rounder.
The southpaw has proved his worth on the international stage. Axar has featured in 25 T20I games and scored 147 runs at an impressive strike rate of 137.38. On the bowling front, he has taken 21 wickets at an economy of 7.34.
Axar, though considered more of a bowling all-rounder, has improved his batting credentials of late. He had an amazing outing with the bat in the limited-overs series against West Indies. Also, in IPL 2022, the southpaw scored 182 runs striking at 151.67.
