2. Use of Hybrid Pitch

The ICC Ccmmittee has also decided to conduct ODI and T20I matches on hybrid pitches. Currently, the hybrid pitches are only used for Women's T20I matches, but that is set to change from October 1.

Hybrid pitches are natural grass embedded in a matrix of synthetic fibers (which can be done in several ways). It has already been used in prominent football leagues along with The Hundred competition played in England.

As compared to traditional wickets, the hybrid pitch requires less time to prepare for a game which can play a crucial role in the upcoming T20 World Cup where the matches will be played with little time gap between matches at the same venue.
