The T20 World Cup 2022 is slated to start next month and there are a set of names, who can receive a call up if players in their respective sides pick up an injury due to unforeseen circumstances.
2. Andre Russell (West Indies)
It came as a surprise to many when Andre Russell was not named in the T20 World Cup squad of the West Indies. Despite expressing his desire to represent the Men in Maroon at the mega event, the selection committee ignored the star allrounder.
The right-handed batter has not represented his country since their exit from the T20 World Cup 2021. Russell has indulged himself in playing different T20 tournaments across the world.
In T20Is, Russell has played 67 matches and amassed 741 runs at an outstanding strike rate of 156.00. With the ball, he has taken 39 wickets at an economy rate of 9.18.
