T20 World Cup 2022: Rating teams based on their fielding
The upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia will feature some top-notch fielders from various teams.
India - 7/10
Just five years back, India was considered to be one of the best fielding units in the world but things have changed now. The players do give their best but the result at the end of the day doesn’t really favour the Men in Blue. Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian side is third on the list of most catches by a cricketer in the history of T20I cricket but these days, he looks slow on the field and that’s why the opponent keeps on building pressure.
The team will miss the service of Ravindra Jadeja in the match, who arguably is one of the best fielders in the world. Their poor fielding standards was on display in the Asia Cup as well when Arshdeep dropped an easy catch against Pakistan in the super four of the competition. The bowlers are pretty average fielders as well and thus, there are concerns among fans before the mega tournament.
Amidst all these, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul are some fantastic fielders in the squad. As a unit, India can’t be considered bad when it comes to fielding but they often make a mistake in a major tournament which changes the fate of the team. This is one thing that the team needs to take care of.
