Ricky Ponting achieved a lot of success in his international career as a skipper and batter. Captaining Australia for nine years in ODIs from 2002 to 2011, he won a couple of World Cup trophies. Talking about his batting performance in his immense career, the right-handed batter piled up 13589 runs with 29 tons and 82 fifties in 374 ODIs.

Ponting also holds the record of being the best Aussie batter as a chaser. The legendary player scored 4186 runs in 104 innings of 111 ODIs. Ponting contributed a lot of match-winning innings to Australia while following big scores. In April 2002, he played an amazing 92-run innings against South Africa in Gqeberha. Riding on his knock, the Aussie side chased down a massive target of 327.

In September 2009, he played his best ODI knock in England. Against the arch-rivals England in Nottingham, the dashing Aussie legend led his team from the front and played a 126-run innings of 109 deliveries to help his team complete a big chase of 300 runs.
