2. Misunderstanding between Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Tagenarine Chanderpaul leads to run-out
Shivnarine Chanderpaul served the West Indies team from 1994 to 2015. The southpaw played 454 international games in his immense career and retired with more than 20,000 runs. In Tests, he is the only batter who has scored more than 11,000 runs for the Windies. Shivnarine’s cricketing legacy is going ahead as his son Tagenarine has been serving the Windies team in Tests since December 2022.
In February 2018, Shivnarine played his last List A game for Guyana in the Super50 Cup. Shivnarine joined his son Tagenarine at the crease in the second innings. After adding 13 runs, the partnership between the father and the son broke as the latter ran out due to his father’s straight shot that struck the bowler’s foot and found the way to hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end.
