In the Qualifier 2 clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, Abu Nechim scripted an unceremonious record, as he gave away the most runs in the first over of the history of the competition. Batting first, RCB put up a solid first innings score of 185 runs courtesy of a solid start by explosive Caribbean hitter- Chris Gayle.

In the first over, Nechim was up against Mayank Agarwal and Gayle. While the first ball resulted in a wide coupled with a single by Mayank, Gayle claimed strike for the remainder of the over. The pacer zipped one across the tall southpaw for a dot, however, Gayle unleashed madness as he clobbered 24 off the last four balls.

Following the dot ball, Gayle smacked two boundaries and got four-wides in the fourth delivery. Bowling the fourth ball again, the explosive hitter dispatched one into the stands to score a six and finished the over with a double and a boundary (wd+2, 0, 4, 4, wd+4, 6, 2, 4). With this, Nechim recorded the most runs (27) leaked in the first over of the history of the top-tier league.
