Top 5 ODI performances by Bangladesh bowlers
Bangladesh bowlers have helped in scripting some of the glorious wins in the country's cricketing history.
3. Rubel Hossain’s 4-53 against England, 2015 World Cup
Bangladesh were playing their last group game in the 2015 World Cup against England and to qualify for the knockouts, they had to win against Eoin Morgan and co. On paper, the English side looked superior to the Bangla Tigers, but Bangladesh's Rubel Hossain had some other plans that day.
With standout performances from both Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim in batting, Bangladesh set a total of 276 for England. Morgan and his boys were cruising smoothly towards the target with Ian Bell’s steady innings but Rubel, who was too hot to handle that day, created a ruckus in the English side by dismissing both Bell and the England skipper on spectacular deliveries.
With pressure built by Rubel’s incredible bowling, England showed discomfort as they failed to rack up runs quickly and faltered. In the end, the pacer scripted a historical win and paved the way for Bangladesh to the knockout stage by dismissing both Stuart Broad and James Anderson on back-to-back deliveries. His amazing spell of 9.3-0-53-4 is still considered one of the best for Bangladesh in ODIs.
