Top 5 part-time Test batters without half-centuries
In the history of Test cricket, bowlers’ batting efforts have gone unnoticed that's why it’s essential to discuss five part-time batters who notched up the most runs without fifties.
1. Nathan Lyon
Nathan Lyon recently broke into the record books for becoming the third Australia bowler to bag 500 wickets in Tests. In his vast 13-year-old Test career, the spin wizard has delivered valuable numbers to his side with the ball several times but back in 2012, he also played an unbeaten 40-run knock against West Indies in his team’s three-wicket win in Bridgetown.
Lyon is also among those batters who have scored more than 1000 runs in Tests without any hitting a single half-century in their careers. The 36-year-old has amassed 1455 runs in 160 innings of 127 matches with the highest score of 47 against South Africa in Cape Town in 2018.
