Top 5 performances of Shakib Al Hasan in IPL history
Shakib Al Hasan is the greatest all-rounder Bangladesh cricket has ever produced.
1. SRH vs RCB, Match 39, 2018
Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 39th game of the Indian Premier League 2018. RCB won the toss and decided to field first. Hyderabad did not have the best-of starts and found themselves at 48 for 3 with a scoring rate under six.
SRH skipper Kane Williamson was waging a lone battle at one end and needed support in the middle. Shakib arrived at the crease and did just what the doctor ordered. The southpaw kept the scoreboard ticking by milking singles and scoring timely boundaries.
He stitched a 64-run stand for the fourth wicket with Williamson and helped Hyderabad reach a respectable total of 146 runs. The Bangladesh all-rounder scored 35 runs off 32 deliveries which consisted of five fours.
It was not an easy task to stop the star-studded RCB batting line-up from chasing the target down. But Shakib led Hyderabad’s charge with the ball and bagged two wickets including the prized wicket of Virat Kohli. Others bowlers too stepped up and as a result, SRH won the match by five runs.
