Top 5 spells by Indians on debut in T20I cricket
Let's take a trip down memory lane and reminisce some of the finest performances delivered by Indian players on their T20I debut.
4. Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3/9 against Pakistan
One of the finest Indian pacers of the current lot, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been an asset for team India. His ability to bowl incredibly well with the new cherry makes him one of the best bowlers in the shortest format of the game. He has produced some match-winning performances for the Men in Blue in the past.
The leading wicket-taker for India in T20Is had a dream debut too. He got his maiden T20I cap for India against Pakistan in the first of the two-match T20I series in Bengaluru in 2012. The Pakistan batters can never forget that astonishing spell from the Meerut-born. He got rid of three Pakistan batters in his quota of four overs and was unplayable that day.
Bhuvi claimed the wickets of Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, and Umar Akmal. He gave just nine runs in his four overs and sucked the life out of Pakistan's batting order. Unfortunately, India lost the game by five wickets despite the praiseworthy efforts of the pacer.
