Top 5 T20I knocks played by Bangladesh batters
There are many Bangladesh batters who have taken the international circuit by storm with their dazzling performances.
4. Mahmudullah vs Sri Lanka , 2018 Nidahas Trophy
Bangladesh took the stage alongside Sri Lanka for the sixth game of the 2018 Nidahas Trophy. It was a knockout game with the winner booking a spot in the finals. After being put to bat, Sri Lanka posted a fighting total of 159 runs, riding on the half-centuries from Kusal Perera (61 runs off 40 balls) and Thisara Perera (58 runs off 37 balls).
In response, Bangladesh were 96 for 2 at one stage, well placed to chase the total down. But they suffered a mini-collapse and were struggling at 109 for 5. The equation became a bit dicey with 51 required off 31 balls. The Bangla Tigers needed someone to rise to the occasion and it was Mahmudullah.
Though wickets tumbled at one end, the ace all-rounder kept his composure and played a stunning innings of 43* runs off 18 deliveries to take his team across the line with a ball to spare. Mahmudullah’s incredible knock consisted of three fours and two maximums. Courtesy of the win, Bangladesh made it to the finals. However, Shakib Al Hasan & co. could not go all the way as they lost the summit clash to the Men in Blue by four wickets.
