Some players were at their best in the T20 carnival in South Africa
11. Shabnim Ismail
Shabnim Ismail has carried the mantle of the South African pace attack for over a decade. She has dismantled top-quality attacks for fun and made world cricket her happy hunting ground. The 34-year-old has featured in 127 ODIs and bagged 191 wickets at an economy of 3.70. Coming to the T20Is, she has taken 123 wickets in 113 games at an economy of 5.77.
Ismail breathed fire in the eighth edition of the T20 World Cup 2023. The veteran pacer clocked speeds of over 125 kmph on a consistent basis and rattled batters with her whizzing pace. She made six appearances for South Africa in the competition and picked up eight wickets at a superb economy of 5.86.
Ismail brought her A-game into play in the crunch semi-final clash against England. She dismissed courageous stroke makers, Sophia Dunkley and Alice Capsey, during the powerplay to bring her team back into the game. Then she showed impeccable death-over skills and bowled a brilliant final over, getting rid of Heather Knight and booking a ticket to the finals.
