2. Slotting in Heather Knight at the number four position
Heather Knight has been the mainstay of the England batting line-up for over a decade. The 32-year-old has featured in 129 ODIs and accumulated 3589 runs at an average of 36.25. Talking about the T20Is, she has notched up 1583 runs in 98 matches at a strike rate of 118.31.
Royal Challengers Bangalore roped in Knight for WPL 2023 and has entrusted her to play the role of a finisher, which was quite surprising considering the England batter has not been doing the same in the international arena. She has been slotted in the number five position twice and even in the number six once in the high-profile competition.
Though Knight has fared well in the role and smashed 64 runs in three matches at a stunning strike rate of 193.93, the knocks have come a bit too late and were not enough to seal the win for her side. She is looking in pristine touch, and the think tank could use her form better by pushing her to the number four position. The ace batter can act both as an accumulator and a destroyer. Thus, RCB could send her two down in the games to come.
