WPL 2023: 3 Players with most bids placed for at the auction
These players were the hot picks during the WPL 2024 auction. Franchises fought among themselves for the services of these players.
2. Vrinda Dinesh
Vrinda Dinesh was a success story in the WPL 2024 auction. Back in June, she played a key role in the final of the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup in Hong Kong. Her 29-ball 36 proved crucial as India-A beat Bangladesh-A by 31 runs in a low-scoring game.
This brought her into the limelight and hence when her name came up for bidding in the WPL auction, there was lots of interest amongst the franchises. Royal Challengers Bangalore, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat Giants went after Dinesh in an interesting bidding war. UP Warriorz with their huge purse, won out in the end as they bought Vrinda Dinesh for INR 1.3 crores.
