WPL 2023: 5 Indian bowlers to watch out for
Here are five Indian bowlers who could deliver remarkable performances to their franchises in the maiden season of the WPL.
3. Radha Yadav
Radha Yadav has become an important name in the Indian cricket team due to her incredible talent to trap batters with her left-arm bowling. Pairing with Deepti Sharma, she has bagged many matches for India in her five-year international career. The 22-year-old has claimed 68 scalps for India so far in 67 international matches, at an economy of 6.61.
From 2019-22, she also played the Women’s T20 Challenge for Supernovas (2019-20) and Velocity (2022). In the 2020-21 season, she also became the highest wicket-taker in the competition, clinching eight wickets in three games at an economy of 5.91. Noting her previous records and capability, DC roped Radha into their squad for her reserved price of INR 40 lakh.
Going through her impressive bowling figures in T20 internationals, the franchise will expect her to reinforce their spin attack. On spinning surfaces, she could become dangerous for batters with her compatriot and veteran Poonam Yadav. In the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup, Yadav took three wickets in four matches, at an economy of 7.00.
