7. Kanika Ahuja
Following the performances of RCB in the two weeks of the WPL, it could be said RCB haven’t performed as per the expectations of her team. However, in the sixteenth game of the league, they dominated Gujarat Giants (GG) in all three departments. Claiming the eight wicket-victory over Giants, they have kept their hopes alive to play in the knockout stage.
Earlier, RCB got their first victory in the 13th match of the tournament against UPW. Pursuing the score of 136, RCB found themselves in a perilous situation after losing four wickets on 60. With the presence of Sophie Devine, Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, and Heather Knight, RCB were heading towards another defeat.
However, Kanika Ahuja, who looked focused and confident with her bat, played match-finishing innings of 46 runs off 30 deliveries and took the team home with five wickets in hand. Her knock ended RCB’s losing streak in the competition, and she also received the Player of the Match award after the game.
