Cricket fraternity floods Yuvraj Singh with wishes on his 36th birthday

From former opener Virender Sehwag to current opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, all took to their social media accounts to wish Yuvi.

Swashbuckling Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh celebrated his 36th birthday today and is indeed one of the most loved cricketers in the country. Yuvraj has been flooded with birthday wishes from the cricket fraternity on social media since midnight.

From former opener Virender Sehwag to current opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, all took to their official Twitter handles to wish one of the most cherished cricketers across the country.

Sehwag posted in his typical witty way while wishing the all-rounder on his special occasion. Sehwag posted an image with Yuvi and captioned it saying, “A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T W X Y Z , you will find in plenty. But UV is only one rare one. Happy Birthday dear friend @YUVSTRONG12 . May your fight continue to inspire many”.

The flamboyant Indian batsman has taken great strides in his career ever since his foray into international cricket. Yuvraj, who has over 10,000 international runs in over 400 appearances, has been Indian cricket team’s go-to player on numerous occasions.

The Chandigarh-based cricketer has always kept his best for the bigger stage. He is well remembered for playing an instrumental role in India’s 2011 World Cup victory. Yuvraj contributed both with the willow and ball and even went on to win the ‘Man of the tournament ‘ award.

His fielding skills are still unmatched and his batting performance on several occasions was historic. Especially, the 2002 NatWest final against England, his six sixes to Stuart Broad in 2007 T20I World Cup and his stint in 2011 World Cup which India won.

However, his career came to an abrupt halt after he was diagnosed with cancer. Given the fighter he is, Yuvraj emerged as a crusader in the fight against cancer. Recently, the left-hander was also awarded a doctorate degree in Philosophy Honoris Causa (Ph.D h.c.) by ITM University, Gwalior.
