Cricketers came up with some of the most hilarious posts which thoroughly left the fans entertained.
Social media is quite an interesting place to be in. Despite all the ill-effects, one can have a great bit of fun if the platform is used in the right way – especially Twitter. Some of the cricketers decided to have fun on social media this year and engaged their followers with humour of different kinds. They came up with some of the most hilarious posts which thoroughly left the fans entertained.
Here are the top five most humorous social media posts from cricketers this year:
1. Virender Sehwag’s tweet one day before his wedding anniversary
Just a day before his wedding anniversary, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag came up with a witty and extremely funny tweet. In his post, the dashing batsman took a funny jibe at how a husband can never win an argument with his wife. This perfectly timed tweet left the fans truly amused.
“Heard this- Ek aadmi ne tootte taare ko dekhkar Biwi se bahas jeetne ki shakti maangi . Taara vapas jud gaya!,” Sehwag wrote in his tweet. [This loosely translates to: A person asked a shooting star that he be granted the powers to win an argument against his wife. Hearing that the star returned back to its starting position.]
2. Sachin Tendulkar’s World Coconut Day
Indian pacer Ishant Sharma turned 30 on September 2, 2018. The fast bowler was flooded with wishes all over the social media. Among those countless greetings came a special wish from the master himself. Sachin Tendulkar took it to Twitter to share a picture and it was him batting along with Ishant. In the caption, he declared that day to be ‘World Coconut Day’.
3. ‘Tera Dhyaan Kidhar Hai, Yeh Tera Hero Idhar Hai’
This incident took place during the IPL 2018. The Sunrisers Hyderabad were up against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator match. The winner of this game would progress ahead to the final to face the Chennai Super Kings. The Sunrisers were struggling after being put into bat first until Rashid Khan got into action. He scored 34 runs off just 10 balls to get the team to a respectable total of 174/7.
Yet again, in the chase, KKR found themselves having an upper hand with the openers going strong. Chris Lynn was going strong and the team was on the course to comfortably overhaul the target. At this stage, Rashid produced his magic once again. He dismissed the dangerous trio of Lynn, Robin Uthappa and Andre Russell and gave away only 19 runs in his 4 overs. Furthermore, he was involved in the run out of Nitish Rana and took two good catches.
“@rashidkhan_19 wow wow wow. Truly a magical spell of bowling a great ambassador for the sport and his country. The final is gonna be thrilling,” tweeted Bollywood hero Varun Dhawan after watching this performance. In his reply, Rashid thanked Varun and put up the lyrics of one of Varun’s songs which perfectly resonated the situation.
4. You will end up in tears laughing
On this occasion, it was the turn of former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne to make his fans laugh. He shared a video in his tweet which is largely self-explanatory and one cannot control their laugh after watching it.
“Just had to post this as I’ve been in tears of laughter for the last 24 hours. The more you watch it the funnier it gets,” Warne wrote in his tweet.
5. When you do not pay the bills on time
Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh didn’t leave the opportunity to troll his teammate Yuvraj Singh on social media. The left-hander posted a tweet to complain about a power cut in Bandra. ‘Lights Out in Bandra for over an hour now … can we get it back please,’ he wrote.
In his reply, Harbhajan wrote: ‘Badshah bill time par diya karo’.
