Cricket in 2018: Flop ODI XI of the year
We have picked an ODI XI of the players who had a disappointing year in terms of their individual performances.
9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (India)
Bhuvneshwar Kumar happens to be one of the most conspicuous players for the Indian team across all the formats. Having made his debut in 2012, Bhuvneshwar has seen a lot of ups and downs in his career due to injuries. Notwithstanding that, he has managed to make his case stronger at the international level. Howbeit, the year 2018, saw a sudden downfall in his bowling exploits, especially in ODIs, as he failed to gather wickets for India at the crunch moments.

The Indian paceman featured in 14 ODIs this year. Having bowled close to 600 balls, Kumar scalped just 11 wickets at an average of 48.81 and a strike-rate of 55.00. Moreover, he shelled out runs at an economy rate of 5.31. These numbers are pretty ordinary for a player of his stature and calibre. Thus, with the 2019 World Cup approaching, Bhuvi will look to improve his performance in the coming period.
