Winning skipper and POTM Faf du Plessis said:
"What a night! Such a great atmosphere. Just a pleasure to finish the season in front of the home seasons. There was a lot of rain falling on the pitch, and you don't want that moisture. It felt like a day-five Test match in Ranchi! The contributions from many batters at good strikes, I'm really proud. We were defending 175 [and neither 201 nor 218]! We tried to get the ball changed tonight. I dedicate the Man of the Match [award] to Yash Dayal! I said to him pace off on this wicket is the best option. It's crazy; even when we weren't winning, we had the fans here. It was set up perfectly - CSK vs RCB! Incredible. Thank you everyone for their support. It's really important that you enjoy this. Your first goal in the IPL is to try and get in the knockouts," Faf said.
Losing skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad said:
"It was a good wicket. For spinners, it was turning and gripping a little bit. Pretty happy with what the target was. To sum up the season, pretty happy with seven games out of 14. Injuries, not having Conway as well - made a lot of difference. Challenges right from the first game. Pathirana got injured, we missed Fizz as well. When you have injuries, it is difficult to balance the squad... Couldn't get over the line, but these things can happen. For me, personal milestones don't matter a lot. After all, the ultimate prize is to win. We couldn't get it, so personally I'm slightly disappointed as well," Gaikwad said.
RCB WIN BY 27 RUNS
Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs and qualified for the playoffs of IPL 2024. CSK ARE OUT!
MS Dhoni departs
MS Dhoni departed after scoring 25 runs off 13 balls. Is this the final time Dhoni walking out? Who knows. CSK need 11 runs to qualify in four balls.
OUT OF THE GROUND!
Dhoni just hit that OUT OF THE GROUND. WHAT ARE WE SEEING? 110 metre six!
Ends with a six
Alright. 17 runs are needed for CSK to qualify. MAN!!
15 runs off the over
CSK are 166/6 after 18 overs. 35 runs are needed in two overs.
11 runs off the over
CSK are 151/6 after 17 overs. 50 runs are needed for them to qualify. Looks impossible now.
Nine runs off the over
CSK are 140/6 after 16 overs.
PHENOMENAL!!!
Faf du Plessis has picked up a stunning catch to send Mitchell Santner packing. He departed for three runs. as CSK are 129/6 after 15 overs.
End of the 14th over
CSK are 125/5 after 14 overs. 76 runs are needed to qualify for the playoffs, 94 runs to win
Shivam Dube departs
Shivam Dube departed after scoring seven runs off 15 balls. Cameron Green picked up the wicket. CSK are 119/5
Rachin Ravindra departs
An unfortunate miscommunication between Ravindra and Dube in the middle. Ravindra departed for 61 runs off 67 balls. CSK are 114/3 after 12.5 overs.
19 runs off the over
Expensive over from Lockie. 19 runs off the over as CSK are 110/3 after 12 overs.
Half-century for Rachin Ravindra
When the going got tough, Ravindra stepped up. He completed his half-century in 31 balls.

Notably, match 68 of the IPL 2024, will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, in Bangalore.
As the Indian Premier League season enters its final stretch, the teams find themselves delicately poised on the table. The upcoming match between the giants is shaping up to be a virtual knockout, with both teams facing a do-or-die situation.
After securing victories in five consecutive matches, the hosts would be brimming with confidence, which has revitalized their playoff aspirations. Positioned sixth in the IPL points table presently, a victory would ensure their place in the playoffs. However, it's not just any win they need. Based on their current Net run rate (NRR) of +0.387, calculations indicate that as a benchmark, RCB must either restrict CSK to a total of 181 while defending a target of 201 or chase down a target of 201 with at least two overs to spare.
As for CSK, they're relatively comfortably placed in the fourth spot. However, the aforementioned criteria apply to them as well, with converse conclusions for obvious reasons. Even if the visitors manage to end up losing by a margin with a lesser magnitude as compared to the preceding basis, the playoffs conundrum will continue unless the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) upstage Mumbai Indians (MI) by a cosmic measure, which seems highly implausible at this point of the tournament.
It'll be a redux of the inaugural clash of the ongoing IPL 2024 season, but with a twist. this time, the match will be held at a different venue, with much greater importance attached to the outcome.
