Both teams are facing each other after they lost their previous respective encounters. A win will give them the much-needed two points as both are on 10 points along with Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and the Punjab Kings.
CSK's major cause of concern is their bowling attack as they couldn’t defend 74 off the last six overs against PBKS on Sunday. Tushar Deshpande, even though he holds the purple cap, has been constantly leaking runs while Theekshana, who was roped into the XI in place of Michell Santner hasn’t done much and has been sloppy on the field.
LSG on the other hand would very well be worried about the fitness of their skipper KL Rahul who unfortunately injured his hamstring while fielding vs RCB. He did come out to bat at the last movement in the hope of guiding his team to the victory line but couldn’t do so.
In the absence of Rahul, South African opener Quinton De Kock might return to open along with Kyle Mayers while Krunal Pandya will captain the side. It is fair to say that whoever loses would be under a lot of pressure as the points table becomes even tighter.
