Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will look to continue their winning momentum in their next contest against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. In their previous match, they hammered the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals in the last-ball thriller. With their previous victory, Sunrisers are still alive in the playoffs race, with four wins in 10 matches.
Currently, The Orange Army is in the ninth position on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 points table but the 2016 champions will look to give their best in the remaining matches and strive to end in the top four to appear in the playoffs. This will be SRH’s second meeting with Super Giants and this time, and Aiden Markam and his men will want to level their score with LSG in this year’s competition. Previously, Lucknow came out victorious in their last encounter with Sunrisers at the Ekana Stadium on April 7, 2023.

Here's Sunrisers Hyderabad’s predicted XI against Lucknow Super Giants
Openers: Anmolpreet Singh & Abhishek Sharma
In SRH’s four-wicket triumph over Royals, Anmolpreet Singh and Abhishek Sharma played a crucial role. While following a colossal total of 215, both openers were required to give a powerful start to the team and they did the same. They will have to continue their form in their upcoming games to help their team fare well.
Currently, Sharma is the third-leading run-getter for Sunrisers with 203 runs in eight matches at a superb strike rate of 152.63. While Anmolpreet will have to improve his game in the matches coming ahead as he has piled up only 64 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 125.49.
Middle-Order: Rahul Tripathi, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, & Glenn Phillips
Rahul Tripathi is the highest run-scorer for SRH this season, with 237 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 127.41. However, these numbers won’t bring cheers to the faces of SRH supporters but the right-handed batter will be expected to shine in the remainder of the competition.
On the other side, Heinrich Klaasen has displayed his efficiency for Sunrisers with his spunky batting displays. The wicketkeeper-batter is the second-leading run-getter for his team, scoring 215 runs in seven innings of eight matches, at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 185.34. In his team’s incredible win over RR, Klaasen again showed his monstrous side with his 26 off 12.
Skipper Aiden Markram hasn’t lived upto the expectations in the this year's IPL edition. As a captain, he should’ve led his team from the front but his numbers indicate that the Protea hasn’t justified his role in the squad. With 179 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 127.85, Markram has come out as one of the biggest failures for SRH in the competition.
The SRH team management replaced Harry Brook with Glenn Phillips in the playing XI against RR. Their move worked as the dashing New Zealand batter played an effective knock of 25 off seven to help his team clinch the match. For his magnificent batting performance, he also received the Player of the Match award. Noting his form, SRH will want their Kiwi stalwart to turn up against the rivals in the upcoming contest.
All-rounder: Abdul Samad
After back-to-back failures in the competition, Abdul Samad put up an impressive show with his bat in the last match. Against Royals, the youngster played an unbetean 17-run innings off seven balls and helped his team cross the line. For the crucial matches coming ahead, the SRH team management will want him to don the role of a finisher.
Bowlers: Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, & T Natarajan
Marco Jansen is an important member of SRH’s pace attack. However, his performance hasn’t been upto the mark as the South Africa bowler has taken only nine wickets in seven matches at a horrendous economy of 9.91. Despite witnessing his flop show, captain Markram might not lose faith in the pacer and continue with him in the remaining matches.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s responsibility is to lead SRH’s bowling unit with his experience and skills. However, he hasn’t been at his best throughout the season, which has impacted SRH's campaign negatively. The veteran has scalped nine wickets in 10 appearances at an economy of 8.31 and these bowling figures are tarnishing his image as he is the two-time Purple Cap winner in the league.
Mayank Markande has come up as the most successful bowler for SRH. The leg-spinner has proved his efficiency with the ball as he has succeeded in trapping 11 batters in eight matches at an economy of 7.31. SRH's fate in the upcoming matches will be dependent on the leggie's performance as well.
Despite witnessing T Natarajan’s flop show with the ball, SRH haven’t lost their faith in the pacer. The 32-year-old has failed to reinforce the SRH fast-bowling unit along with Jansen and Bhuvneshwar, but his numbers say that he has failed to do his job proficiently. The speedster has racked up only eight wickets in nine matches at an expensive economy of 9.42, but his team might back him in the upcoming games to get desired results.
