WBBL 2022: Match 15, ST-W vs MS-W Match Prediction – Who will win today’s WBBL match between Sydney Thunder Women vs Melbourne Stars Women?
Sydney Thunder won only one match in the tournament while the Melbourne Stars are yet to win one.
After a horrible start to the season, Sydney Thunder finally showed some intent as they defeated the defending champions Perth Scorchers by 25 runs in their last match. Melbourne Stars on the other hand are still winless after their three matches in the WBBL. With the expectation to change the scenario, they will lock horns with Thunder on October 23 at W.A.C.A ground in Perth.
Coming back to Thunder, their batting woes finally came to an end as England international Tammy Beaumont finally returned back to form. Against the quality bowling line-up of Perth, the 31-year-old smashed 77 off 59 deliveries while captain Rachael Haynes supported her beautifully in the middle.
Coming to the bowlers, Lauren Smith completely stole the show with a fifer. In her four overs, she gave away just 17 runs and absolutely destroyed Scorcher’s middle order. Now even though Sammy-Jo Johnson went for a lot of runs (50 off four overs), she picked up two important wickets of Sophie Devine and Marizanne Kapp, who could have been dangerous for Perth.
Now, talking about the Stars, the team came close to defeat the Scorchers in the previous match but eventually lost in the final over. The Nicole Faltum-led side have not played bad cricket so far in the tournament but the result hasn’t gone their way. The main reason behind that is their poor form in batting. Bowlers have done reasonably well so far and if they manage to do that, Sydney Thunder will be under pressure right from the start. If they capitalize on that, the Stars can actually go on to record their first victory in the tournament.

ST-W vs MS-W, Match 15, Probable Top Performers
Probable best batter
Tammy Beaumont:
Even though Stars’ Lauren Winfield-Hill is in great form, Tammy Beaumont with her last knock is one of the players to look out for in the upcoming match. With a strike rate of 107.50, the 31-year-old smashed 86 runs in four matches so far. Opening the innings, she can once again prove dangerous for the opponent.
