In T20 cricket, especially in the World Cup, it is a platform for record-breaking feats. Records are made and broken almost daily, showing the changing nature of this shortest format. The critical nature of the T20 World Cup pushes teams to their limits, resulting in extraordinary performances.

However, some records stand the test of time, registering themselves into cricketing history and are seemingly unbreakable even as the game evolves. These extraordinary feats, whether with bat or ball, in run-scoring or defending, showcase the highest point of performance in this format. Such records not only highlight individual brilliance but also demonstrate the incredible heights at which T20 cricket has gone.

Here are some T20 World Cup records that may never be broken:

3. India vs Pakistan bowl-out in 2007 edition

In an exciting clash at the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, India faced arch-rivals Pakistan for the first time in this format. With regular rain interruptions and a nail-biting finish, the match ended in a tie, forcing a bowl-out, cricket's version of a penalty shootout. The concept of bowl out was introduced if the game ended in a draw, and teams were asked to aim at unguarded stumps.

The Men in Green succumbed under pressure, with Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul, and Shahid Afridi all missing their marks. On the other hand, India's cool-headed approach paid off. With Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, and Robin Uthappa hitting the stumps with pinpoint accuracy. This unique win set the tone for the rest of India's campaign, which MS Dhoni & Co. went on to win. The exceptional method used to determine the winner in this match was implemented only once in the prestigious competition and has not been utilized again since.

2. Lockie Ferguson bowled 4 maidens in an innings

New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson registered his name in T20 World Cup history during the 2024 edition. The Kiwi speedster delivered a brilliant spell against Papua New Guinea, bowling four consecutive maidens and claiming three wickets. Ferguson's figures of 4-4-0-3 set a new benchmark for economy in a T20 World Cup, surpassing Canada's Saad Bin Zafar's 4-4-0-2 against Panama in 2021.

The 33-year-old became only the second bowler in T20I history to achieve this feat, joining Zafar in the record books. Ferguson's victims included Assad Vala, Charles Amini, and Chad Soper, as he dismantled the Papua New Guinea batters with his pace and accuracy. This extraordinary performance will likely stand as one of the hardest records to break in T20 cricket.

Yuvraj Singh's assault on Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup match against England in Durban remains fresh in every cricket fan. With just 20 balls left, the left-hand batter walked in, fired up after an exchange with Andrew Flintoff. What followed was pure havoc.

In the 19th over of the innings, Yuvraj smashed six sixes, each more devastating than the last. The ball sailed over mid-wicket, backward square-leg, deep extra cover, and long-on with ruthless power. In just 12 balls, Yuvraj reached his fifty, setting a record for the fastest half-century in T20Is. His explosive innings, featuring seven sixes and three fours, propelled India to a total that proved too much for England, securing an 18-run victory.
