Abu Dhabi T10 2022: Yuvraj Singh to mentor New York Strikers for upcoming season
Yuvraj Singh represented the Maratha Arabians during the 2019 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league.
Veteran India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been offered the role of a mentor by the New York Strikers for the 2022 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10. Yuvraj has some amount of experience in the Abu Dhabi T10 league as he had also featured as a player during the 2019 edition having represented the Maratha Arabians.
Yuvraj Singh, who announced his retirement from international cricket in June 2019, has since then tried to make a mark in a few global franchise tournaments after taking permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He also plays the tournaments organized for the retired cricketing legends and icons.
New York Strikers' have also roped in Kieron Pollard and Eoin Morgan
As far as the Abu Dhabi T10 2022 is concerned, the New York Strikers have roped in the likes of the Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollard and England's 2019 World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan. Other players who have been roped in by the franchise include Irish power-hitter Paul Stirling and Pakistan's Azam Khan.
"Kieron Pollard and Eoin Morgan are among the biggest names in white-ball cricket. Both are extremely dangerous players and we have no doubt that their leadership qualities will be extremely essential for our camp going forward. Both Pollard and Morgan strike fear in the opposition team's minds, and we like that thought," said franchise owner Sagar Khanna on star signings.
The 2022 season of the Abu Dhabi T10 league gets underway on November 23. Meanwhile, the New York Strikers are the second team participating in the competition from the United States of America after Morrisville SAMP Army.
