After completing a 3-0 whitewash over Afghanistan in the T20I series, India will now turn their focus to England, as they face Ben Stokes' men in a highly-anticipated five-match Test series at home.
The first Test starts on Thursday, January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Then, the two teams will head to Visakhapatnam for the second Test, which will be played from February 2 to 6. The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is making some special arrangements as they prepare to host the encounter.
Around 10,000 students will be allowed to watch the encounter free of cost. They will need to provide valid ID cards to get free access to the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. ACA secretary, S.R. Gopinath Reddy told the media on Wednesday, January 17, that there was some confusion regarding the ticket sales. He revealed that a newspaper report carried incorrect details. He informed that the ticket sales began on January 15.
"In two days, there was a robust response, with 3,000 tickets sold through the Paytm app and Insider.in website. Online ticket options ranged from Rs 100 to Rs 500 for individual days. Season passes for all five days are available at Rs 400, Rs 800, and Rs 1,000. Despite the brisk online sales, offline counters would also have tickets available," Reddy was quoted as saying by the Deccan Chronicle.
Offline ticket sales for India-England Test will start on January 26, Subsidy for club players
Meanwhile, for fans seeking online tickets for the second Test of the series between India and England, which is slated to begin later this month, the Insider.in website provides a couple of options. They can buy an Individual 'day' pass for daily access or the 'season pass' to enjoy the action on all five days of the encounter. Offline ticket sales will start from January 26. Cricket lovers can purchase offline tickets at the stadium in PM Palem and the Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium from January 26 to February 6. As many as 13,382 tickets are available for sale, both online and offline, with a minimum price of Rs 100 to a maximum of Rs 1,500.
Gopinath Reddy prioritized an inclusive approach, mentioning that 2,850 cricket club players in the state will benefit from a Rs 250 subsidy, helping them to enjoy the riveting contest between India and England, without having to dig too deep into their pockets. Lower pavilion season tickets in Visakhapatnam have been priced at Rs 1,500.
