Ashes 2023: Harry Brook becomes fastest player to complete 1000 Test runs

English youngster Harry Brook wrote yet another piece of history as he became the fastest player to complete 1000 runs in Test cricket in terms of balls faced. Brook achieved the feat while attempting to chase the target of 251 runs to win England the ongoing third Ashes Test.
Brook has been in subpar form in recent months and has been ordinary in the Ashes 2023 as well. However, with his brilliant knock in the second innings of the third Ashes Test, the youngster will have gained some much-needed confidence.
Brook played a brilliant knock under pressure, scoring 75 runs in 93 deliveries, his knock helped England register a brilliant win by three wickets and keep their hopes for the marquee series alive. Following his run of poor form, Brook’s match-winning knock in the third Ashes Test would do his confidence a world of good.
England look to claw their way back into Ashes 2023
The Ben Stokes-led England got off to the worst of starts to the Ashes 2023 as they lost the first two Tests of the series. As the marquee series looked to be slipping away from their grasp, the hosts made a sensational comeback in the third Test and won the game by three wickets.
Notably, England lost the first Test by two wickets after a thrilling performance lower down the batting order by Pat Cummins. The second Test saw the visitors completely dominate England in every aspect of the game as they won it by 43 runs as well.
However, it was the third Test where things seemed to turn in the favour of the hosts. Through a brilliant performance with the ball, England did a commendable job limiting their opponents to a reasonable total. After a rain-ridden Day 3, Harry Brook and Zak Crawley helped the hosts register a crucial win.
