Australia and New Zealand will go head-to-head in a much-awaited Chappell-Hadlee series, commencing on Tuesday, the 6th of September in Cairns. The series was postponed twice in 2021 and 2022 due to the quarantine requirements owing to the pandemic. The heavyweights will reignite their intense rivalry in the three-match ODI series, which is part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League.

The home side, whic suffered a shock defeat to minnows Zimbabwe in their last encounter, will be hoping to bounce back in the upcoming ODI series and extend their impregnable record against the Kiwis in Australia. The big concern for the Men in Yellow will be the lean patch of skipper Aaron Finch, who registered just 21 runs in three innings against Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile the visitors, New Zealand have been one of the most in-form sides in ODIs, winning 11 of their 12 Super League fixtures. But the Blackcaps have failed to register a win in ODIs Down Under since 2009. They will be looking to build on the series victory against West Indies in the build-up of the upcoming series.

Australia have won the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy six times to New Zealand's four and are the dominant force at home, but will be facing a stern test against the Kiwis, who have unearthed a few talented young cricketers over the last few months.
