BCCI secretary promises press note on Abhishek Nayar and support staff exit
Devajit Saikia confirmed the BCCI's move to remove Abhishek Nayar and others from their positions.
Devajit Saikia, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) Secretary, has confirmed the news of the board parting ways with some of their support staff members like Abhishek Nayar, T Dilip, and Soham Desai after the end of their current tenure.
In the aftermath of things, during a recent press conference, Saikia confirmed the recent developments and actions of the Indian board. Besides, an official statement regarding the same might be out for everyone's reference. In the same regard, he confirmed to release a press note on BCCI's behalf to confirm the news.
"Certain things are being finalised. You will receive a press note from BCCI in a few days," Saikia was quoted as saying by News18.
The replacements for the Indian Assistant Coach and the Fielding Coach have not been found yet. However, the S&C Coach has reportedly been replaced with Adrian Le Roux, who is currently working with PBKS and has worked with BCCI in the past. The trio was informed about BCCI parting ways with them a week ago. It claimed that there might not be any new joinees ahead of India's tour of England.
"Nayar, Dilip, and Soham have been informed about it last week. The Indian board will not have any new appointee as of now," an Indian Express report claimed.

The trio worked for the BCCI even under the leadership of Rahul Dravid. However, due to the reduction in the number of support staff, they are likely to make their exit. BCCI conducted a meeting after India's loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which featured big names like Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Ajit Agarkar, and Saikia.
In the review meeting, several key points were discussed, including the roles of the coaching staff. Nayar's failures in helping the batting unit in the BGT 2024/25 led to bringing Sitanshu Kotak for the role of the Indian Batting Coach.
"While the BCCI didn’t act immediately but they brought in Kotak, the former Saurashtra run accumulator, it was a way of sidelining Nayar during the Champions Trophy," a source as per News18 said..
