Jasprit Bumrah is completely fit, and he may be part of the Ireland series: Jay Shah
Bumrah could feature for India in the upcoming Ireland series.
The Indian team has seen many pacers come and go over the years, but there have been very few of them, who are able to strike fear in batters’ hearts like Jasprit Bumrah has done for quite a few years now. There is no doubt that Bumrah has been team India’s ace pacer ever since his rise, and ever since he picked up a back injury in July 2022, his absence has been heavily felt.
Due to the injury, Bumrah missed out on many major tournaments, including the 2022 T20 World Cup, the 2022 Asia Cup, the final of the World Test Championship, and much more. However, in a moment of relief for both the fans and team India, the 29-year-old was recently seen back in action, training at the NCA.
As fans expect him to make his return to the national team very soon, the secretary of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), Jay Shah, came forward to confirm the news. Shah opined that Bumrah is completely fit and could be included in India’s upcoming Ireland series as well.
"Bumrah is completely fit, and he may be part of the Ireland series," Shah was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz. It is worth noting that India will take on Ireland for a three-match T20I series in Dublin on August 18, 20, and 23.

Notably, Shah opened up about a variety of topics, with one of them being the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) expressing their need for a dedicated bowling and fielding coach for the Indian women’s national team. Speaking of the same, Shah opined that the interviews for the same have already been conducted, and the appointment process will begin soon.
"The CAC has already conducted interviews for the head coach position and is also looking for specialized coaches for fielding and bowling. The process for these appointments will be initiated soon," Shah said.
